Currently in Miami — November 22, 2023: Pre-Thanksgiving Front

Plus, some big news ... on the road to building a weather service for everyone.

Front will only yield isolated showers

The weather, currently

A weakening cold front will approach South Florida on Wednesday and will clear the area on Thursday but will bring little change to the forecast. A stable atmosphere aloft will limit rain chances to isolated showers both days, and a dip in temperatures from the mid-80s on Wednesday to the low 80s on Thursday will set up a pleasant Thanksgiving Day for you and your family. For boaters, the easterly winds will decrease in strength and seas will come down into the 2-5 foot range during the midweek period. Heading into the weekend, there will be a slight uptick in rain chances—between isolated and scattered showers.

Some big news,

We just launched Currently Weather Service's first public offering! We’re hoping to raise $10,000 between now and Small Business Saturday. Your investment will make the difference in building Currently into a driving force for climate justice.

Starting at $100, you can become a direct investor in Currently and help us move forward with confidence.

We decided to partner with Honeycomb because they’re a platform that allows small businesses like us to raise money from our community instead of a bank. However, we’re not asking for donations like a Kickstarter or a GoFundMe - you actually get to invest in us — and you will own a part of the work we do together.

Thank you so much for supporting our important work to continue building an innovative personalized weather service for the climate emergency.

What you can do, currently.

Everyone deserves to thrive. Everyone is worthy of a better world. That’s why we’re building a weather service for the climate emergency.

Currently’s new weather service is now live. In the weeks and months ahead, we’ll be continually adding more features and opening up more slots as we develop the service.

But for now, space is limited in the weather service because I want to make sure we can provide the highest quality service we possibly can while we work to refine the system with your input.

If you’d like to put your name on the waiting list, be sure to fill out our baseline survey if you haven’t already which will hold your spot in line.

Our goal — as always — is to co-create the most personalized, most informative weather service that exists. And, above all, to make this service accessible, equitable, and resilient enough to bring safety and joy to the climate emergency.
