Warm temperatures but only isolated to scattered showers; Temperaturas cálidas y aguaceros solo aislados a dispersos
While a Flood Watch remains in effect through the end of Sunday, conditions are set to improve overnight and on Monday as the departure of a mid-level trough and the introduction of drier air after Tropical Storm Arlene dissipated will improve stability and reduce rain activity to start the new week. Only isolated to scattered showers are expected on Monday—a welcome change to last week’s relentlessly stormy weather. Flooding will be unlikely barring localized ponding of water over already saturated soils. Meanwhile, temperatures will remain warm during the day in the upper 80s and up to 90 degrees. Overnight lows will be in the low-to-mid-70s. Similarly dry and warm weather is expected on Tuesday.

France Télévisions, the French public television network, has revamped its daily weather broadcasts to incorporate climate change. The change is being heralded by climate journalists around the world.
The goal is to “not just to say, ‘It will be sunny tomorrow or it will rain,’ but to explain why,” Alexandre Kara, the editor-in-chief of France Télévisions, said in an interview with the AFP news agency. Kara added that it is no longer “acceptable to be happy that it is 25 degrees [77 degrees Fahrenheit] in [the seaside resort town of] Biarritz in February without explaining why.”

What’s more, their entire newsroom — not just weather journalists — will no longer fly to report on domestic stories “except in cases of urgent breaking news.” Bon travail, France Télévisions!
